Gastroscopy
A Gastroscopy examines the oesophagus (food pipe), stomach and duodenum (first portion of the small intestine). A bendable, lighted tube about the thickness of your little finger is inserted through your mouth and into the stomach and duodenum. The camera enables pictures to be relayed to the viewing screen. Biopsies can be taken for investigation of Helicobacter pylori, Coeliac disease, and other conditions. This procedure can be done in Sedation
Colonoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy, Polyp removal, Haemorrhoid treatment (Piles)
A Colonoscopy enables your endoscopist to examine the lining of the rectum, the colon, and sometimes the ileum (small intestine). The flexible endscope is gently inserted into the anus and advanced into the colon. A Colonoscopy is used to detect and remove polyps and for prevention or early detection of bowel disease/cancer. Also problems such as rectal bleeding, dark stools, chronic diarrhoea, persistent and unexplained abdominal pain, iron deficiency anaemia, substantial weight loss with accompanying gastrointestinal symptoms, or a personal or family history of colon cancer can all be evaluated through colonoscopy. This procedure can be done in Sedation
A common procedure to treat internal hemorrhoids is rubber band ligation, where a ligation instrument is inserted through a speculum to suction the targeted haemorrhoid. Then a rubber band is placed over the hemorrhoid down to its pedicle. Please see attached fact sheet:

Video Capsule Endoscopy
Procedure also known as “Pillcam”. It allows for direct and minimally invasive visualization of small bowel mucosa and can identify superficial lesions not detected by traditional endoscopy and radiography. This procedure is the standard of care for small bowel evaluation, helping healthcare practitioners detect the presence of lesions and what may be the source of obscure GI bleeding, Crohn’s disease and iron deficiency anemia.
You simply swallow a vitamin-sized capsule, which then takes photos from then inside of the small bowel.
